In graph, when mouseover a mode, indicate connected notes
Austin says Work the Room
When using the graph, I want to see a note and then see what it's connected to. When I hover over note, it would be nice to see an indicator of the connected notes.
Obsidian does this by fading the unconnected notes. (I hover over a note and all notes that are NOT connected dim.)
You could also do color, size, etc.

I agree … I think that the graph / map is the weakest feature of Reflect and could do with some real focus to bring it up to the standard of the rest of the app. As it stands I visit it to see my note volume and some sense of structure but it is of little real value and I normally leave that view with a sense of disappointment .. sadly!
So…
- highlight connected notes (as suggested by Austin)
- allow pulling of nodes in order to gain further clarity of how much is directly and indirectly connected to the current node (or some equivalent )
- ability to include tags to gain a sense of how and where they are important
- try and keep layouts at least partially consistent… currently each time I access the map any given node moves around on the map so I can’t find it ( ie on visit 1 node A is at 6oclock position and 2 minutes later I re access and it can be found buried at the 2 o’clock position !! )
Ie something similar to the well known obsidian graph … but keeping in line with Reflect simplicity I suggest in preference what I think is the best graph implementation currently …. As seen in zen hypernotes. Looks clean and simple but is deceptively powerful (zooming, filter, 2 point path identification, click to open note(s) etc … all on a very clean simple graph view that works equally well on Mac, iPad and iPhone
Functionality should exist on desktop and iPad as a minimum but arguably is just as important on mobile as graphs can be an effective means of navigating the note field on a small screen (I have used hypernotes this way)
Anyway … rant over!
I honestly think reflect is a nats nadger from the best note taking tool, but at this price some things like this topic should be fully formed
